GIANTS Software has released Precision Farming 3.0 as a free downloadable pack for Farming Simulator 25. This latest iteration of the EU-backed initiative seeks to enhance in-game realism by incorporating smart farming technologies and promoting sustainable agriculture practices.
One of the key additions in Precision Farming 3.0 is the inclusion of tramlines, which help guide machinery along designated paths across fields. This allows for more efficient crop management and growth. Players are also offered subsidies for planting oilseed radish as a catch crop, echoing real-world governmental support for environmentally friendly, nitrogen-saving agricultural methods.
Another feature introduced is Pulse Width Modulation (PWM), enabling more precise application of liquids through sprayers. This system adjusts flow rates in real-time according to vehicle speed and turning radius. When paired with Automatic Section Control, which toggles sprayer sections based on GPS-defined field zones, the result is a more efficient use of resources with minimal environmental impact.
The equipment catalogue is also expanded in this release. New additions include the John Deere R975i trailed field sprayer, the HAWE body swap system, and the Wienhoff TA 25 Profi Line slurry tanker. Sprayers can also be upgraded with PTx Trimble WeedSeeker 2 sensors, allowing for targeted weed control.
These updates build upon the existing core features of the Precision Farming project, which has seen more than five million downloads across its versions. Returning features include soil sampling, environmental scoring, economic analysis, crop sensors, yield mapping, and variable rate applications – offering players an increasingly data-driven approach to managing their virtual farms.
