Publisher SelectaPlay and developer Disaster Games have officially launched Morkull Ragast’s Rage for PC via Steam, Xbox, PlayStation consoles, and Nintendo Switch. The 2D action platformer sets out to combine intense combat, exploration, and fourth-wall-breaking interactions, as players take on the role of Morkull, the God of Death and Darkness, in his quest to escape the Ragast and unleash chaos on the world.
Morkull Ragast’s Rage features hand-drawn, frame-by-frame animation inspired by classic animated films and traditional 2D video games. The game’s protagonist is fully aware that he is a character in a video game, acknowledging the presence of both the player and his creators. His mischievous personality and direct interactions also aim to add a comedic and unpredictable dynamic to the experience, complete with pop culture references and self-aware humour.
The game’s combat system allows players to harness Morkull’s godly powers with an array of combos and abilities to fight through the dangerous depths of the Ragast. A free demo is available on PC, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch, allowing players to experience a taste of the action before diving in.
For collectors, Morkull Ragast’s Rage is also available in physical editions. A Standard Edition is offered alongside a Limited Collector’s Edition for PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch. The Collector’s Edition includes a physical copy of the game, character stickers, a full-colour artbook, a set of art postcards, a CD soundtrack with a digital download code, and a fabric patch featuring Morkull, all packaged in a specially designed collector’s box.
