Square Enix has announced that DRAGON QUEST III HD-2D Remake has surpassed 2 million units in worldwide shipments and digital downloads. This milestone covers all versions of the game, spanning Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via both Steam and the Microsoft Store on Windows.
The remake seeks to bring a modern touch to the 1988 classic with its HD-2D graphic style, combining pixel art and 3D visuals. While remaining faithful to the original’s story and turn-based battle system, the remake introduces new features such as voiced event scenes, orchestral music, the “Monster Wrangler” vocation, the “Monster Arena” challenge mode, and additional story content focusing on Ortega, the protagonist’s father.
