Guerrilla Games has announced the release of Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered, bringing the acclaimed post-apocalyptic world of Horizon Zero Dawn back with enhanced visuals, technological improvements, and upgraded features. The remastered edition will launch on 31 October 2024 for PlayStation 5, and a day later on 1 November 2024 for PC.
The remastered edition includes The Frozen Wilds expansion, offering additional lands, skills, weapons, and machines. With over ten hours of re-recorded dialogue, new motion capture, and countless graphical updates, the remaster delivers a visual experience on par with its sequel, Horizon Forbidden West. Players should expect to traverse lush environments, from frozen mountains to dense jungles and arid deserts, all in stunning 4K resolution, with significantly faster travel between settlements.

DualSense Support: The PlayStation 5 version integrates haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, aiming to enhance player immersion. New tactile feedback options have also been added to alert players to interactable elements.
Audio Upgrades: The remaster features an updated sound mix, supporting PS5 Tempest 3D Audio Tech and Atmos rendering. Improvements have been made to both in-game sound and cinematic audio.
Graphical Updates: The game includes upgraded character models, improved animations, lighting, and textures. It also offers native support for PlayStation 5 Pro, with options for higher fidelity and faster frame rates.
PC-Specific Features: The PC version includes support for ultra-wide resolutions, NVIDIA DLSS 3, and AMD FSR 3.1, along with PlayStation Trophy support.
Accessibility Features: The remastered version includes remappable controls, haptic cues, and various assist options to make the game more accessible to a wider range of players.
Existing owners of Horizon Zero Dawn or Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, or PC will have an option to upgrade to the remastered edition. Pricing for the upgrade is to be confirmed.
