Starcom: Unknown Space to Exit Early Access with 1.0 Release in Early September

The single-player, open-world space action RPG Starcom: Unknown Space is set to transition from Early Access to its official 1.0 release on 2 September 2024. Developed as a follow-up to the Starcom: Nexus, developer Wx3 Labs has boasted over 20,000 players since entering Early Access in December 2022 – designing their own starships and exploring the game’s own take on the broad universe.

The 1.0 release will coincide with the start of Steam’s Space Exploration Fest, and is priced at $24.99 USD or local equivalent

Key promoted features of the game include:

  • Design your own starship with a custom ship-building system;
  • Research new technologies to unlock new modules & abilities;
  • Train your command crew in different skills to improve encounter outcomes, reveal insights, and improve ship operations;
  • Battle or befriend different alien factions with their histories and agendas;
  • Make meaningful decisions in a deep story line;
  • Discover lots of secrets and mysteries in an open-world universe.

Most of all, players love the sense of exploration and discovery: the feeling that the next star system will reveal something terrifying, weird or wonderful. Sometimes all three.
