Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut Now Available on PC

Sucker Punch Production’s 2020 action-adventure game Ghost of Tsushima is, for the first time, now available on the PC, with Sony Interactive Entertainment today rolling out onto the platform via Steam and the Epic Games Store. The port was developed by Nixxes in collaboration with the original developers, and is the ‘Director’s Cut’ version of the game, meaning it includes the full game, the Iki Island expansion, and the co-operative online multiplayer Legends mode.

Ghost of Tsushima is an action-adventure game set in feudal Japan. Protagonist Jin Sakai was raised and trained in the ways of the samurai. His world is shattered when a Mongol invasion defeats the samurai army of his home on Tsushima island, and he is faced with a difficult decision: honor the tradition and customs of his upbringing and maintain a fight he cannot win, or deviate from his samurai path to protect the island and its people by any means necessary. In his quest to reclaim Tsushima, Jin seeks the guidance and support of old friends and new unlikely allies. He must break away from tradition, become a new kind of warrior, and protect what’s left of his home at all costs.

The aforementioned Iki Island Expansion introduces new locations, characters and enemies to the game world, located on the mysterious Island of Iki – a wild, lawless land of raiders and criminals. Then you also have the Legends co-operative mode which is a standalone experience inspired by Japanese folk tales and mythology for two player story missions or four-player wave-based survival missions. Unlike the recent case with Helldrivers 2 however, a PlayStation Network account is required for online multiplayer as well as the PlayStation Overlay.

PC players will gain access to a few features tailored towards different hardware specs and capabilities, including:

  • Experience Ghost of Tsushima with unlocked framerates and a variety of graphics options tailored to a wide range of hardware, ranging from high-end PCs to portable PC gaming devices.
  • Get a view of even more of the action with support for Ultrawide (21:9), Super Ultrawide (32:9) and even 48:9 Triple Monitor support.
  • Boost performance with upscaling and frame generation technologies like NVIDIA DLSS 3, AMD FSR 3 and Intel XeSS. NVIDIA Reflex and image quality-enhancing NVIDIA DLAA are also supported.
  • Japanese lip sync – enjoy a more authentic experience with lip sync for Japanese voiceover, made possible by cinematics being rendered in real time by your PC.
  • Choose how you control the action: experience haptic feedback and adaptive triggers through a wired DualSense controller or the tried-and-true mouse and keyboard that has powered PC gaming for decades.
