Earlier in the month, Paradox Interactive and their Paradox Tectonic studio announced that their upcoming life simulation game Life by You, would once again have its early access period delayed from 5 March 2024 until 4 June 2024. Regardless of the reason behind this extension, it once again saw Epic Games Store follow their (very reasonable) processes and refund everyone who pre-ordered the game.
Rather than take pre-orders for a third time, they have forgone the option entirely, and chosen to make their pre-order bonuses either accessible to all upon the release of Early Access OR accessible through other means such as a newsletter subscription. But those who pre-ordered the game the second time around have received the below email from the Epic Games Store:
Hi ,
Thank you for your recent pre-purchase of Life By You. We are sending this email to let you know the game’s release date has been postponed to June 4, 2024. Due to this delay, we are canceling your pre-purchase and refunding you the full amount. To receive further updates on Life By You, visit the game’s store page and add it to your wishlist.
As a thank you for your ongoing patience, in addition to your refund, we have added an Early Access: Decor Pack which contains some decor for you to use in-game upon launch. To access this content, repurchase Life By You after its launch.
Thank you for your support of the Epic Games Store.
So everyone who recently pre-purchased Life by You will receive a bonus Decor Pack. What does it contain? Completely unspecified goodies! Of course, this is also with the contingent that you buy the game from the Epic Games Store, in lieu of the planned Steam release.
