Fans of the Jujutsu Kaisen manga, anime and wider multimedia franchise from the mind of Gege Akutami have a new opportunity to enjoy the series in video game form, with Bandai Namco Entertainment publishing the series’ first fighting game adaptation today. Titled Jujutsu Kaisen Cursed Clash and developed by Byking and Gemdrops, the game is now available on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam – pretty much all the usual suspects.
Seeking to offer dynamic movements and animations, mighty attacks and an aesthetic faithful to the series, Jujutsu Kaisen Cursed Clash hopes to appeal to both fans of the series and first timers “looking for explosive anime fights”.
The game offers a single player mode that will take gamers through the action of both the anime adaptation’s first season and the animated feature film Jujutsu Kaisen 0, where Yuji Itadori, Yuta Okkotsu and a cast of unique sorcerers defend humanity against monsters known as Curses in modern-day Japan. In the multiplayer modes, players can choose between sixteen of their favourite characters and compete in 2v2 matches, ranked or casual, in private online lobbies or with strangers
To turn the tide of battle in their favour, players will have to learn Cused Techniques to unleash powerful tag-team attacks and combos.
