Now available on the PlayStation 5 and in a couple of days time for the PC and Xbox Series X|S (21 December 2023), Bandai Namco Entertainment has rolled out a demo for their upcoming flagship fighting game, TEKKEN 8, onto the PlayStation Store. Ahead of the game’s launch on the 26th January 2024, this demo will grant players access to a spattering of the game’s modes, enough to hopefully whet their whistles until the real brawls commence in little more than a months time.
The demo features the following offline content:
- STORY: “The Dark Awakens” Chapter 1
- ARCADE QUEST Chapter 1 (content is adjusted for the demo version)
- SUPER GHOST BATTLE
- VERSUS Mode – with Jin, Kazuya, Paul & Nina as playable characters. Available stages are URBAN SQUARE (Evening), YAKUSHIMA and SANCTUM
- Gallery, with highlighted cutscenes from TEKKEN to TEKKEN 7
Unfortunately, no save data will be transferrable across to the full release.
Moreover, a new story trailer has been released for TEKKEN 8, which as its title implies, focuses on the new main story campaign you will be following: The Dark Awakens. After Heihachi’s defeat, the world has gone into chaos with Kazuya wreaking havoc with his G Corporation. Jin Kazama, his son, and wielder of the Devil Gene is the only one that can stop him. The Dark Awakens tells this epic fight with dynamic cutscenes and sequences smoothly changing between cutscenes and battle.
TEKKEN 8 will be available on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC starting 26 January 2024, with no planned support for last generation platforms – and instead Bandai Namco Entertainment is pushing the message that the game uses “the power of this generation of consoles to offer a visually stunning experience along with a vision promoting aggressiveness and spectacular battle action”.
