With development still underway on TEKKEN 8, developer and publisher Bandai Namco Entertainment has shared details on two newly confirmed characters for the game – one who will be returning from prior appearances in TEKKEN 5 and TEKKEN 6, and another being introduced for the first time in this newest generation instalment.
On the returning front, we have Raven, the UN secret agent who will be returning to the franchise. After his disappearance following the events of TEKKEN 6, Raven underwent intensive training and comes back even stronger. His style mixing ninjutsu and powerful strikes, along with his unique “Soul Field” stance, will give players a versatile arsenal, using clones and teleportation to master the rhythm of the battlefield.
New to the series, we have Azucena, an MMA fighter from Peru who is also known as the ‘Coffee Queen’. She is the latest heir in the Ortiz family line, a family running a Peruvian coffee plantation. She decided to compete in The King of Iron Fist Tournament to promote the Ortiz Farm. Azucena fights using movement based on Mixed Martial Arts, while incorporating some slightly unconventional techniques, such as the Liberador, where she shifts into a stance in which she doesn’t block her opponents but dodges their attacks by instinct.
In development by Bandai Namco Entertainment with the objective of “using the power of this generation of consoles to offer a visually stunning experience along with a vision promoting aggressiveness and spectacular battle action”, TEKKEN 8 will be released in the future on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC.
