Publisher Level Infinite and developer Hotta Studio have unveiled the details for Midsummer Merriment, the upcoming major expansion for Tower of Fantasy, scheduled for release on 8 August 2023. The free-to-play, open-world MMORPG is available on both PC and mobile devices, and will soon be accessible on PlayStation consoles, with this new expansion taking players to Ignisville’s Cloudpeak Manor, once a lively hub now overtaken by darkness.
Cloudpeak Manor will bring players face-to-face with new creatures, including the cow-like Cyox and Crystalline Darkness. Along with these creatures, a new enemy, the Black Crow Dark Wretch, has emerged. Formerly the Golden Crow, a symbol of good fortune, it was transformed by Darkness into the Black Crow. This formidable foe, with its tough bone armor and three retracted bird heads, will coordinate its attacks to pose a significant challenge to its opponents.
In addition to these new challenges, players can engage in the Jade Pavilion Fair, an entirely new storyline within the expansion. After 12 years, the inhabitants of Domain 9 will reunite for a joyful celebration filled with lanterns and local delicacies. The Fair will also feature Exchange Stores and numerous side missions for wanderers to explore and complete. Along with these new features, a new character named Ming Jing will be introduced as Lord Xuanwu, wielding a distinctive greatsword and providing a strong sense of security for the people of Domain 9.
Midsummer Merriment coincides with Tower of Fantasy’s 1-year anniversary. As part of the celebration, players should expect some of the largest rewards since the game’s launch, along with new events to commemorate the occasion.
