Ubisoft, in partnership with Lucasfilm Games, revealed its upcoming open-world Star Wars game, titled Star Wars Outlaws, at the Xbox Games Showcase today. The game is slated to launch in 2024 and will be available on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and Windows PC via Ubisoft Connect. Developed by Massive Entertainment, Star Wars Outlaws joins a range of other modern and retro games on the series, but seeks to differentiate itself from previous Star Wars games by being the first open-world game in the franchise.
The game’s setting takes place in the Star Wars universe between the events of Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back and Star Wars: Return of the Jedi. The narrative will explore the criminal underworld flourishing as the Galactic Empire seeks to crush the Rebel Alliance.
Players will assume the role of Kay Vess, a crafty rogue portrayed by Humberly González. Accompanying Kay is her trusty sidekick Nix, voiced by Dee Bradley Baker, known for his work on Star Wars: The Bad Batch. The duo embarks on a daring heist in the Outer Rim, navigating crime syndicates and outsmarting adversaries.
