Being re-released for the first time since both Baiten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and The Lost Ocean and Baten Kaitos Origins first debuted on the Nintendo Gamecube many years and console generations ago, Baten Kaitos I & II HD Remaster is confirmed to be releasing on the Nintendo Switch starting Friday 15 September 2023. The card-based RPGs will bring the original stories of both games, and combine them with high definition visuals.
Baten Kaitos I & II HD Remaster will allow both original players and newcomers to again discover the endearing and emotional journey that awaits them in both Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean, and Origins. In the first story, follow Kalas in his quest for revenge for the death of his loved ones, and then dive deeper into the secrets of the Alfard Empire alongside Sagi in the sequel.
Although a HD Remaster instead of a fully-fledged remake that some fans may have hoped, this collection will feature a few small improvements including the ability to turn encounters off, auto battle mode, the ability to skip cutscenes, and auto-save. Furthermore, players will be able to to increase the game and battle speed up to 300%, and complete battles with a single attack if they so choose. Although at that point, you may ask why bother playing the game.
These were games I sadly never got to play when they were originally released, so I am personally excited to finally delve into both Baiten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and The Lost Ocean and Baten Kaitos Origins.
