Those looking to dive into a brand new RPG this year will have a new option come April/May 2023 this year, with Marvelous Europe confirming that Trinity Trigger will be launching on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Windows PC during this period. The adventures will start in 25 April 2023, when XSEED Games publish the title for the PC via Steam, followed by a near-month long wait when Trinity Trigger is made available in Europe, Australia and New Zealand directly by Marvelous Europe on 16 May 2023. It would be understandable to think that the US and PAL releases would be simultaneous, but this is how things are.
Trinity Trigger sets out to be “an all-new action role-playing game combining the look and feel of iconic RPGs of the ‘90s with an emphasis on fast-paced, customizable combat”. Players will take control of three young heroes as they attempt to defy fate and save the continent of Trinitia. Accompanying them are the Triggers, strange creatures with the unique ability to transform into eight types of weapons that players must master if they hope to be successful on their quest. By yourself or with two other players via local co-op, explore diverse biomes and dungeons, strategize to exploit enemy weaknesses, and change your destiny.
Trinity Trigger features a creative team which includes some recognisable names, including worldbuilding artist Yuki Nobuteru (Trials of Mana), character designer Raita Kazama (Xenoblade), scenario writer Yura Kubota (OCTOPATH TRAVELER), and composer Hiroki Kikuta (Secret of Mana, Trials of Mana).
