New Trailer for Dystopian Cyberpunk Game ‘Replaced’ Shared During TGA 2022

Showcasing the world of their upcoming action platformer REPLACED, Coatsink and Sad Cat Studios shared the game’s world premiere trailer during The Game Awards 2022. Depicting a dystopian but somehow charming cyberpunk past, interested gamers got a look at the retro-futuristic environments soon to be explorable, together with teased backstory elements and glimpses of bleak abandoned landscapes, bustling neon cityscapes and combat.

In REPLACED, you will fill the shoes of R.E.A.C.H, and artificial intelligence (AI) who has been trapped within a human body against their will, you must explore and uncover the mysteries hidden within the world, and ultimately understand what it’s like to be a human in a broken world. But in and around Phoenix-City, outlaws are rife. Everything is ruled by corruption and greed, and the ones in power see humans and their organs as nothing more than currency.

According to the development team at Sad Cat Studios, REPLACED is “inspired by cyberpunk cinema like Blade Runner 2049 & Upgrade”, and features a 2.5D environment to explore. They aspire to “build an in-depth, complex world, with pixel art at the heart of REPLACED’s gritty, dystopian past”.

REPLACED is scheduled to be released sometime in 2023 on the Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
