Bringing the PlayStation 1 classic to audiences both new and old on current-generation hardware, Square Enix has released Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition onto the PlayStation 4, Xbox one, Nintendo Switch and Windows PC in recent days. Available digitally, players are invited to (re)embark on a journey featuring “enhanced illustrations from original character designer, Nobuteru Yuuki, refined music from acclaimed composer, Yasunori Mitsuda, and a variety of additional improvements”.
Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition brings the time-bending tale of adventure and friendship to modern day consoles, boasting one of the “largest and most diverse casts of playable characters of any RPG with more than 40 unique potential party members”. Players fill the shoes of Serge, who stumbles into another world and learns of the connection between his existence and the future of his planet. The remastered edition includes “RADICAL DREAMERS – Le Trésor Interdit -“, a text-based adventure video game released for Satellaview in 1996 that establishes the foundation of the CHRONO CROSS story.
