Drake Interplanetary’s DefenseCon Commences in Star Citizen

Been feeling that the United Empire of Earth Navy’s (UEEN) Invictus Fleet Week was a bit well-to-do? Craving a look at ships from a controversial brand offering crafts which could cover defensive and criminal exploits? Just love the colour red? After not being invited to participate in Invictus Launch Week again, Drake Interplanetary has booked out a hangar at Riker Memorial Spaceport on ArcCorp to host the second annual Drake Defensecon.

An addition to Star Citizen’s annual Invictus Fleet Week in-world event, from today until 1 June 2021, backers and those partaking in the free flight week will be able to tour, rent out, and fly several ships from the Drake Interplanetary brand. This includes the trio of Cutlasses (Black, Red and Blue), the awesome Herald and the massive Caterpillar.

As usual, Drake wasn’t invited to showcase its iconic ships to the wonderful UEE public. Though we won’t grease palms in pursuit of military contracts, we know the defense-minded public would love to see our range of hard-hitting, rough-edged alternatives to the usual suspect’s watered-down navy cast-offs.

Drake Interplanetary's DefenseCon Commences in Star Citizen 1

Drake Interplanetary is the last ship manufacturer who will have a presence at MicroTech during the Invictus Fleet Week period. In the final 48 hours, all show halls will be tourable once more, giving everyone a final chance to perhaps fall in love with a new ship.

In development by Cloud Imperium Games and their studios across North America and Europe, Star Citizen is being helmed by Wing Commander (1990s) creator Chris Roberts. The game has currently been in a long-term alpha phase with no confirmed release date. Despite this, the studio has raised more than $350 million USD through on-going crowdfunding. Please keep in mind should you decide to purchase towards Star Citizen, that this is an incomplete project and that you are pledging towards an extended crowdfunding campaign with no 100% guarantee of a finished product.
