The Sims 4 No Longer Origin Exclusive, Now Available on Steam

While still maintaining their Origin digital distribution platform, Electronic Arts earlier this month brought a number of their classic and recent titles to the Steam storefront. This was not a one-off move either, with additional games being made available across both platforms over the last fortnight. The most recent inclusion is one which comes as the biggest surprise – The Sims 4 and all its previously released expansion, game and stuff packs.

Until 10 July, the base game and its digital deluxe edition will be available through Steam at 50% off. Those wanting to spice up their game with many of the content-rich packs can also pick them up for between 20% and 30% off, with the exception of The Sims 4: Eco Lifestyle which was only released the other week.

The Sims 4 No Longer Origin Exclusive, Now Available on Steam 1

First released in September 2014, The Sims 4 is the fourth numbered instalment in Maxis and Electronic Arts’ long-running The Sims franchise. Since launching it has received a whopping nine expansion packs, eight game packs and sixteen stuff packs which provide a range of gameplay system additions, activities for Sims to enjoy and lots of clothing and furniture to spark your imagination. You can read my review of the base game HERE.

While nothing has been confirmed to date, given how far into the post-launch development cycle The Sims 4 is, it is probable that we will receive an official announcement of The Sims 5 in the next couple of years.
