[PS5 Showcase] Ratchet & Clank to Return on the PlayStation 5

One of the significant platforming franchises of the console, each generation since the PlayStation 2 has seen an instalment in Insomniac Games' Ratchet & Clank series. Since first hitting store shelves in 2002, more than two dozen titles have been made available from new chapters to remakes, to spin-off titles. The PlayStation 4 eased itself away from Ratchet and Clank, having only a single release in 2016, but it seems like the duo is of greater interest on the PlayStation 5. Developer Insomniac Games has confirmed that Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is in development. Setting out to "[showcase] what's possible for games designed around PS5's ultra-high speed SSD and DualSense wireless controller", a primary mechanic of the game is being able to travel through completely different dimensions mid-gameplay seamlessly.
