Definitive Edition of Iconic Wii RPG Xenoblade Chronicles Launches on Nintendo Switch

Of the many, many, many creative video games released for the Nintendo Wii during its lifecycle; few managed to reach the calibre of Monolith Soft’s Xenoblade Chronicles. For an RPG of such quality which has found itself to be a gem of the Nintendo-exclusives library even today, it was unique in that it launched in North America more than half-a-year after European and Australian markets. The game has since received not only a sequel, but also a New Nintendo 3DS remake ‘Xenoblade Chronicles X’ in 2015. Now in 2020, if you feel like playing the game once again, you are in luck. Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition can now be purchased physically and digitally, exclusively on the Nintendo Switch.

This is not just a remaster of the original game, but features a wealth of new upgrades, additions and improvements. It also expands the narrative through a new epilogue chapter, Future Connected, which takes place one year after the events of the original story.

Players can explore the vast world of Bionis and Mechonis with upgraded landscapes, new character models, remastered music tracks, new Time Attack battles, new Casual and Expert Modes, an Event Theater mode, in which players can rewatch unlocked cutscenes and updated game menus for easier navigation.

If you have yet to explore Xenoblade Chronicles, then despite it celebrating its 10th Anniversary this year, it still fares well against its competition of the market today.
