First released on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in 2010, Deadly Premonition was a noir-style mystery survival-horror game directed by Hidetaka “Swery” Suehiro which would best be described as quirky or even absurdist. Although initially not pulling in strong sales, it has over the years gained a cult following which has led for a sequel to be developed by TOYBOX. Titled Deadly Premonition 2: A Blessing in Disguise, players will once again witness the chronicles of eccentric FBI Special Agent York in modern-day Boston to tackle a new mystery.
Published in western markets by Rising Star Games, it has been confirmed that Deadly Premonition 2: A Blessing in Disguise will be released exclusively for the Nintendo Switch from 10 July 2020. While offerings may vary region-to-region, you will be able to nab either a digital or physical retail copy for $49.99 USD (or local equivalent).
Deadly Premonition 2 bills itself as both a prequel and sequel to the original game. Through its storytelling, you will venture back in time to Le Carré and uncover the mysteries buried within the once peaceful town. While following the tale of Agents Davis and Jones, through the memories of Agent York, they will begin to piece together the mystery.
Players will be able to traverse the town of Le Carré by foot or skateboard, and can partake in several traditional open-world activities including bowling, a nice bayou ride, skateboard challenges and more.
