If you are living in a country where Granblue Fantasy’s English localisation is available (sadly, being in Australia it is not), you will know that smart device game features only Japanese audio for all its characters. Although this is unlikely to change anytime soon, publishers XSEED Games and Marvelous Europe have confirmed that their upcoming fighting spin-off game Granblue Fantasy: Versus will feature dual-audio options. This is in addition to English, French, German and Spanish text localisations across all modes.
Granblue Fantasy: Versus will feature post-launch DLC in the form of two character passes. The details of the first have been confirmed, with it including four new characters and a fifth character who will be made immediately unlockable by completing the game’s RPG mode. Chaos Bringer
One of the Astrals who invaded the Sky Realm thousands of years ago, long before the War broke out. Chaos Bringer was sealed away in Pandemonium until the fallen angel Belial released him from his forced slumber. Obsessed with becoming the supreme being, he wields a substance capable of slaying immortals—chaos matter. And at his beck and call is Avatar, the manifestation of destruction. Sky Realm, Astral Realm, Crimson Horizon—his hands will mould these realms into one so that he may stand above all in creation.
Narmaya
With Narmaya, players can switch between two different stances—Dawnfly and Freeflutter— each of which allows her to use different skills, for a highly technical fighting style.
Soriz
An excellent swarmer. His skills will be enhanced by activating his super skybound art. (Super skybound art is a super move that can be activated when the charge gauge is full, and HP is 30% or lower).
Djeeta
Like Gran, Djeeta offers a simple, well-rounded play style. In Granblue Fantasy, Djeeta is the default name for the female protagonist you can select to play as.
The fifth and final character in the first character pass is due to be announced during Granblue Fantasy 6th Birthday live-stream in March 2020.
Granblue Fantasy: Versus is due to release in North America on 3 March 2020. A PAL region release date has yet to be confirmed outside a Q1 2020 launch window. Published outside of Japan by XSEED Games and Marvelous Europe exclusively for the PlayStation 4, this fighting spin-off was developed by Arc System Works and based off the original smart device app by Cygames.
