Last month, Sony Interactive Entertainment Australia kicked off their PlayStation Plus Platinum Hunters competition, which provides players with four chances to earn themselves a physical Platinum Trophy upon 100% completing the game, rather than just receive the standard digital commendation. This was described by the company as a competition for “gaming connoisseurs to play, compete and be rewarded for their hours of effort to unlock every in-game trophy”.
The first of four games to be part of this program was Electronic Arts’ FIFA 18, which launched in late-September 2017. But the race between players to obtain a Platinum Trophy has begun once again, coinciding with the release of Gran Turismo Sport.
To win one of these trophies, players must complete all in-game accomplishments and unlock the Platinum Trophy for a select title. Once players achieve all in-game Trophies and receive the Platinum Digital Trophy, they must snap a screenshot using the SHARE button and upload it on Facebook or Twitter tagging @PlayStationAU and using the hashtag #PlusPlatinumHunters.
The FIFA 18 Platinum Trophy went to the user calmackenzie14, who managed to obtain all 45 trophies within 4-5 days. How long will it take for someone to emerge victorious this time around? Time will tell….
