New Details Shared for Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth – Hacker’s Memory 1

Released on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita in February 2016, Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth was a surprisingly comprehensive and enjoyable RPG which in my opinion trumped pretty much every other Digimon video game released to date. Continuing a less-memorable Digimon offering this year, Bandai Namco Entertainment have opted to continue their work on the Cyber Sleuth line of games, and are set to release Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth – Hacker’s Memory in 2017.

Bandai Namco Entertainment have recently shared more details on the story, characters and online mode featured in Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth – Hacker’s Memory. You can read the new official synopsis for the RPG below:

Hackers in the Digital World are divided into groups with different objectives. Some of them will cooperate, other ones will fight against each other in order to destroy the dimensional barriers and invade the real world. For example, the largest hacker group named “Zaxon” will strongly fight to protect the Digital World. But one member, Jimmy Ken, is unsatisfied with the management of the group so he decided to create his own group called “Demons”. Confusion reigns in the Digital World especially with this mysterious hacker named K who wants to chase the criminal who is hunting for your account.

New Details Shared for Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth – Hacker’s Memory 2

Digimon Story- Cyber Sleuth – Hacker’s Memory will feature an online mode, allowing players to battle against one another with their partner Digimon. The Network Battle mode has been enhanced from its predecessor, offering a Rank Battle mode with pre-determined rules and rating points. There will also be an Event Battle mode, which will feature rules that change every two weeks. Finally, there will be Free Rule Battle mode, allowing players to create their own rooms, alter their rules, and play with up to eight friends. While the latter is for entertainment more than anything, completing Rank and Event battles will give participants coins, which can be exchanged for accessories (for your Digimon) or appearance-altering options (for your character in online mode).

Currently in development for the PlayStation 4 (Physical/Digital) and PlayStation Vita (Digital), Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth – Hacker’s Memory will be available for purchase sometime in Early 2018.
