Following their remade version of Final Fantasy XIV a few years back, video game publisher Square Enix have recently confirmed that their community has expanded to more than 10 million cumulative players – comprising both those who have/had a paid subscription and those with a trial account. According to them, this “continued success is largely due to the title’s robust updates that consistently provide players with new content”.
This announcement comes approximately two months after Square Enix’s release of Final Fantasy XIV’s second expansion pack, Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood. Among other things, this pack introduced two new playable jobs (Red Mage and Samurai), an increase in the level cap, a new story with dungeons and new locations of Eorzea to explore, and more. You can read my review of Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood HERE.
Never explored Eorzea before? A few months back, Square Enix altered their Free Trial for the MMO which allows anyone to indefinitely access all available content up to Level 35. You can learn more about this trial service HERE.
Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn and its two expansion packs Heavensward and Stormblood are currently available for the PC, Mac and PlayStation 4.
