New Party and Level Up Systems Detailed for Nights of Azure 2

Once again taking a reprieve from the Atelier games development team Gust are most known for, Koei Tecmo is working to release an English localised version of Nights of Azure 2: Bride of the New Moon on the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and Windows PC platforms. Slated for release on October 27th 2017, this is set to feature a number of enhancements from its predecessor, including improvements to the level up and battle party systems.

During their journey, players will encounter a number of fiends, and must rely on teamwork and bonds with party members of emerge victorius. As the player character, Aluche will always appear in battle. She will be joined by an NPC of her choice and up to two Servans. According to Koei Tecmo, “each team member will bring a unique selection of skills to the equation, ranging from different fighting styles and weapons to the beautiful Lily Burst, a power-up that combines the extraordinary abilities of Aluche and her humanoid companion into one devastating blow”.

Servan’s are also critical to succeeding in battle, with their Servan Actions able to turn the tide of battle in Aluche’s favour. Tricker Servan’s for example are able to unleash elemental abilities, dealing critical status effects to their foes. Once such example is the canine companion Schard, who can send electrified spheres onto the battlefield to paralyse and inflict lasing damage of enemies. Trickers can change form as they evolve, and can grow more powerful through Reincarnation, both improving their status and giving them access to new attacks/abilities.

Aluche on the other hand is able to use the blood of slain fiends to improve her body strength, giving her access to new abilities selectable based on a players preferred play-style from a number of different combat styles.
