[E3 2017] [Announcement] [Video] Ubisoft Officially Announce Assassin’s Creed Origins

Although this was the least surprising announcement to come from Ubisoft during E3 2017 in my opinion, the video game developer and publisher have formally announced that they will be releasing the next instalment in the Assassin’s Creed franchise this year – Assassin’s Creed Origins.

Developed by the original Assassin’s Creed developers Ubisoft Montreal, this newest instalment will see players transported to Ancient Egypt, during a crucial period which will shape history. Serving as the origins of the Assassin’s Brotherhood, players will follow the story of Bayek, a protector of Egypt. His personal story will lead players into discovering the secrets behind the Great Pyramids, forgotten myths, the last pharaohs and more.

According to Ubisoft, “Assassin’s Creed Origins is a brand new vision for the franchise”, as they embrace “Action-RPG elements where players level up, loot, and choose their abilities to customize their very own skilled Assassin”. Furthermore, players should expect to “experience a completely new combat system allowing them to attack and defend multiple enemies at once and equip ultra-rare weapons against unique and powerful bosses”.

Assassin’s Creed Origins will offer another open world environment, which will be comprised of deserts and lush oases. You can see a taste of what you can expect from world design below:

Assassin’s Creed Origins will be available first on the Xbox One family of consoles, launching on October 27 2017. Players on either PlayStation 4 or Windows PC platforms will be able to dive into the deserts of Ancient Egypt from November 7th 2017.
