PAL Release Date Confirmed for Akiba’s Beat

After seeing separate releases on the PS3 / PS Vita, PlayStation 4 and Windows PC across 2014 and 2015 of Akiba’s Trip: Undead & Undressed – 2017 will finally be the year players can return to a fictionalised recreation of Akihabara crafted by the development team at ACQUIRE. PAL-region publisher PQube have confirmed that its successor, Akiba’s Beatwill launch on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita from May 19 2017.

Akiba’s Beat takes place in Akihabara, the district of Tokyo where technology and culture thrive. Under a new threat caused by a “sinister presence”, people’s memories, hopes and dreams have begun to manifest in reality, and warp Akiba in strange ways. Of particular note is the town now being stuck in a time loop… which has been causing distortions in the fabric of space and time. With a new group of allies, you must take on the fantasies which have come to live, becoming the champion of Akiba and restoring the town to its original state.

Akiba’s Beat is described as an “action RPG with a musical twist”, offering a real-time battle system. One of the musical twists is that you can turn fights into a music video with “Imagine Mode”. Since this is a shopping paradise, you will be able to arm your party with clothing and accessories brought from Akiba’s stores, and enhance your gear with hundreds of computer parts found across the town.

Akiba’s Beat will come with dual-audio (English and Japanese) voice-overs.
