Have you got no big plans for the next few days, own an Xbox One (with Gold Membership) and been hankering to try out Bethesda Softworks’ buy-to-play online game The Elder Scrolls Online? If you answered yes to all three, then this announcement may be right up your alley.
From Wednesday 23 November 2016, Bethesda Softworks will be offering an extended free play weekend for ESO, which running through the holiday weekend, will be offered exclusively on the Xbox One. All you will need to do is download the game through the Xbox Live Marketplace, create an account, and begin your trip into Tamriel.
There will be very few restrictions on accounts created for this free play weekend. In terms of core content, guests will have access to everything present in the base game. While purchasable content will be locked as would be the case with other players, you will receive 500 crowns to spend on costumes, pets, scrolls and more. Should you decide to purchase the game, all characters created, progress attained crown packs purchased and store items bought will be retained.
Got friends playing ESO? This free weekend comes following the launch of the One Tamriel update, which featured level scaling. Therefore, you can play alongside veteran players without everyone feeling either underpowered or overpowered.
This free play weekend also offers those who take part the chance to win a “Trip of a Lifetime”. For more information on this competition, click HERE.
Are you a current player? To mark this Free Play weekend, Bethesda will also be offering discounts through to November 28th on Crown Packs and all versions of the game. The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited base game will be discounted for several hours prior to and following the Free Play Weekend. The Elder Scrolls Online: Gold Edition, which includes all four major DLC game packs: Imperial City, Orsinium, Thieves Guild, and Dark Brotherhood, will be discounted throughout the Free Play Weekend.
