Nintendo Classic Mini Nintendo Entertainment System (2)

While the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) is before my time in gaming, there are undoubtedly many who still remember the days playing the (now) classics on their CRT Televisions. Nintendo want gamers to relive the 80s from November 10, with the company planning to release the Nintendo Classic Mini: Nintendo Entertainment System on store she.ves.

Constructed as a miniature replica of Nintendo’s original home console, this device plugs into your high-definition television using HDMI cable, and allows you to play 30 built-in games from the era. While unfortunately there is no word on if you will be able to expand the game library at a later date, it does come with a range of the more renown games including:

  • Balloon Fight
  • BUBBLE BOBBLE
  • Castlevania
  • Castlevania II: Simon’s Quest
  • Donkey Kong
  • Donkey Kong Jr.
  • DOUBLE DRAGON II: THE REVENGE
  • Dr. Mario
  • Excitebike
  • FINAL FANTASY
  • Galaga
  • GHOSTS‘N GOBLINS
  • GRADIUS
  • Ice Climber
  • Kid Icarus
  • Kirby’s Adventure
  • Mario Bros.
  • MEGA MAN 2
  • Metroid
  • NINJA GAIDEN
  • PAC-MAN
  • Punch-Out!! Featuring Mr. Dream
  • StarTropics
  • SUPER C
  • Super Mario Bros.
  • Super Mario Bros. 2
  • Super Mario Bros. 3
  • Tecmo Bowl
  • The Legend of Zelda
  • Zelda II: The Adventure of Link

The unit itself which contains the console, 1x NES Controller and HDMI Cable will set you back $99.95. As several of these games do come with multiplayer support, you can opt to purchase a second controller for $19.95. A Classic Controller or Classic Controller Pro for the Wii console can also be used. The NES controller can also be used to play Virtual COnsole NES games on a Wii U or Wii console.
