ATLUS USA recently announced they would be handling the release of The King of Fighters XIV in North American markets, presenting fighting game fans with an opportunity to brawl using many familiar characters on the newest generation of video game consoles. But with their acquisition announcement… they didn’t mention exactly when you will be able to purchase this game.

The company have earlier today confirmed that The King of Fighters XIV will be available for purchase exclusively on the PlayStation 4 starting August 23rd 2016. It will be priced at $59.99 USD or $79.99 Canadian Dollars.  This release date is only confirmed for North American markets, and it is currently unknown when those in PAL regions (including Australia and New Zealand) will be able to purchase it without having to import.

ATLUS USA have also confirmed plans to offer a special pre-order / day one edition of The King of Fighters XIV. Available while supplies last, this special edition will come with a SteelBook which is emblazoned with the series’ fiery mainstay: Kyo Kusanagi. Although not exclusive to this edition, ATLUS USA are also making the Classic Kyo DLC costume free for the first week of launch through the PlayStation Store.

In addition to these announcements, two new trailers have been shared. One of these videos focus on the game’s systems – from the traditional 3 on 3 combat to the all-new online Party Battle. There is also a new character video – highlighting some of the playable characters who will enter the fray in The King of Fighter’s fourteenth instalment.
