The Last Dance Has Been Delayed, As a Fourth Week of Velvet Goes on Sale

Citing popular demand, the Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) have confirmed that a fourth week of sessions for Velvet have now gone on sale. This means that the gateway to a “Boogie Wonderland” will be open in the Cremorne Theatre until May 15 2016. Tickets to see Velvet are currently on sale for $59 – $79, with pricing dependent on session and seating preference. These can be purchased via the QPAC website or box office.

Director Craig Hott seeks to take guests into a hedonistic world, which pits dazzling acrobatics against disco divas in a sexy, spectacular, sparkling and slightly sadomasochistic show. Taking the stage will be singer/songwriter Brendan Maclean who heads the cast, and will be joined by an ensemble of talent including muscle man Stephen Williams, hula boy extraordinaire Craig Reid, acrobatic wunderkind Mirko Köckenberger, sizzling aerialist Emma Goh, the sassy sirens Chaska Halliday and Rechelle Mansour, musical director and mix master Joe Accaria and the renown Australian diva Marcia Hines.

My review of Velvet went live yesterday, where it received a ★★★★½. In my opinion, it offered “a night of music-induced euphoria, presenting a great assortment of songs which was complemented by a strong cast, mesmerising lighting choices and good stage design”. You can read more on my thoughts of Velvet HERE.

A short snippet of the song “Last Dance”, one of the songs in Velvet, can be found below. This video was captured during a media call held last week.
