More than half a decade after Mafia II was launched on the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 – a release date has been locked in for its sequel, Mafia III. In development by Hangar 13 and being published by 2K Games, Mafia III will bring its action-adventure gameplay to the newest generation of gaming platforms starting October 7th 2016.
Mafia III is set in the open world of 1968 New Bordeaux, a reimagined version of New Orleans bustling with activity and complete with era-inspired cars, fashion and music. After years of combat in Vietnam, Lincoln Clay knows this truth: family isn’t who you’re born with, it’s who you die for. Now, back home in New Bordeaux, Lincoln is set on escaping his criminal past. But when his surrogate family, the black mob, is betrayed and wiped out by the Italian Mafia, Lincoln builds a new family from the ashes of the old and blazes a path of military-grade revenge through those responsible. What lies ahead of him is intense gun fights and hand-to-hand combat, white-knuckle driving and hard choices – all of which will be required for him to survive the streets of New Bordeaux. But should the right crew be assembled… they might just make it to the top.
Mafia III will be available on the PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One as either a Standard, Deluxe or Collector’s Edition. The Deluxe Edition (Physical/Digital) will be priced at $119.95 – 129.95 AUD, which includes a copy of the game and access to post-release downloadable content. The physical deluxe edition will also include a bonus SteelBook and Poster, but will only be available in limited quantities via EB Games Australia.
Those after the Mafia III Collector’s Edition(Physical) will be looking at a cost of between $179.95 – 189.95 AUD. This set includes all content found in the Digital Deluxe edition, in addition to the original game score on vinyl, an art book, art prints and more.
Those who pre-order any edition from participating retailers will receive the “Family Kick-Back” DLC, which includes three exclusive vehicle and weapon content at launch.

Mafia III introduces a true open world, rich with its own criminal ecosystems to the franchise, while still upholding the strong narrative storytelling and immersive setting that the previous Mafia games are known for. New Bordeaux in 1968 provides a unique and powerful backdrop for our hard-boiled story of crime, betrayal, loyalty and revenge.
Developed by Hangar 13 and published by 2K Games, Mafia III will be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC platforms starting October 7th 2016.
