In a surprising announcement earlier today, especially because Final Fantasy VII has never been released on one of their consoles, Nintendo have confirmed that Cloud Strife will be appearing as a new downloadable character in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS starting December 2015.
Although pricing is currently unknown, the inclusion of Cloud Strife will also bring its own downloadable Midgar Stage to the ensemble of stages already available for the game.
Nintendo have also confirmed that a special broadcast – described by them as “the last one for Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS” – will be released sometime in December 2015
Serving as a staple of each major Nintendo home video game console since the Nintendo 64 (and available for a portable console for the first time), Super Smash Bros. is now available for purchase on the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS gaming systems.
