During their inaugural European Final Fantasy XIV Fan Festival in London last year, Square Enix announced that they would be offering European servers for players of Final Fantasy XIV in the future. That future is soon to arrive, with them announcing last weekend that the online game’s European Data Centre would be commencing operations in October 2015.

The worlds being transferred over to the new data centre will be subject to a maintenance period of three to five days. More information regarding world transfers and this maintenance period will be made available at a later date.

This announcement comes shortly after Square Enix celebrated having more than five million registered users. Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn and its recent expansion pack Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward are both available on the PC, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 gaming systems.
