Assassin’s Creed Syndicate Announced by Ubisoft, Headed to PS4, XBONE and PC

-

With development shifting from Ubisoft Montreal to Ubisoft Quebec (In collaboration with Ubisoft Montreal, Ubisoft Singapore, Ubisoft Annecy, Ubisoft Montpellier, Reflections, a Ubisoft studio, Ubisoft Sofia, Ubisoft Shanghai, Ubisoft Kiev and Ubisoft Bucharest), Ubisoft have officially confirmed that their annual Assassin’s Creed instalment, titled ‘Assassin’s Creed Syndicate’, will be released on October 23rd 2015.

Available on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One (With a PC edition set to be available post-launch), Assassin’s Creed Syndicate is a single player experience set in London during the height of the Industrial Revolution, an age of invention that transformed the lives of many and the history of the world. During this time, the gap between the poor and the rich expands exponentially, making workers’ lives little more than legalised slavery. The lower classes fight for survival by forming a new kind of family – gangs — and adapting to life in the underworld. Players will embody both Jacob Frye and Evie Frye, twin Assassins raised to follow the Creed. Jacob, a determined, hot-headed and rebellious leader of an underground gang, is vastly different than his sister Evie, a master of stealth and control. Together, Jacob and Evie team up to challenge rivals, plutocrats and Templars alike to free the masses from poverty and corruption, and ultimately wrestle back control of London.

Serving as one of the most recent settings chronologically in Assassin’s Creed history, this game will see the fighting system slightly changed from previous instalments. Players are now tasked with combating rival gangs and grow their sphere of influence throughout London using new weapons, including brass knuckles, a kukri knife, a revolve and the Assassin’s Glove. Featuring what they have described as the “largest, most modern open-world city” created yet, it will be possible to travel this world through the use of a rope launcher, zip-lining from rooftop to rooftop and making effective use of horse-drawn carriages / high speed trains.

Marc-Alexis Côté | Creative Director at Ubisoft

The ability to lead an underground gang, commandeer any vehicle on hand and use modern tools to take on an expansive and fast-paced Victorian London sets this game apart. Assassin’s Creed Syndicate has been in development for more than two years and this new modern take on the living open world will please Assassin’s Creed fans and newcomers alike.

Unless any further announcements are made, Assassin’s Creed Syndicate will be the only major Assassin’s Creed game released by Ubisoft in 2015.
