To date, ATLUS USA have previously promoted more traditional physical and magic oriented classes for their upcoming dungeon-crawling RPG release of Etrian Mystery Dungeon. But sometimes it isn’t the party member with the immense magical potential or ability to survive more than a few hits which can turn the tide of battle – with the Gunner role also being a worthy addition to your labyrinth searching team.
Gunners are the masters of ranged physical attacks. Not only can they attack from a distance, but are also able to bind specific enemy body parts like legs to prevent a foe from moving (To make a hasty get away or give yourself the ideal vantage point) or arms (To stop them flailing their sword at you). Even if they may not be able to deal immense damage as their Landsknecht counterparts, they still have a distinct role in their party.
This is the fifth character class which ATLUS USA have shifted their attention to in recent weeks, previously previewing the “typical warrior class” Landsknecht, the “tank” Protector, your traditional “Black Mage” the RuneMaster and the “White Mage” Medic class.
ATLUS USA confirmed that they will be bringing Etrian Mystery Dungeon exclusively to the Nintendo 3DS from April 7th 2015. Unfortunately, no PAL region release date has currently been locked in. But if previous games are any indication, Nippon Ichi Software America will be working on a European / Australian / New Zealand release somewhere down the track.
