Although you may not want to sacrifice your party’s sheer firepower for the convenience of a class which can heal the other members, there are likely going to be times where that extra little bit of insurance can be the one thing that separates your expedition being successful or ending in a massacre.
This is where the “Medic” comes into play. As one of the traditional Etrian Odyssey classes, their role in Etrian Mystery Dungeon is very similar, providing the ability to revive and heal your party members on demand. They are also set to come with some “neat” attacks of their own which may turn the tide of battle – even though they should be kept to the back with Runemasters while giving a quick patch-up to your Landsknechts and Protectors when necessary.
This is the fourth character class which ATLUS USA have shifted their attention to in recent weeks, previously previewing the “typical warrior class” Landsknecht, the “tank” Protector and your traditional “Black Mage” the RuneMaster.
ATLUS USA confirmed that they will be bringing Etrian Mystery Dungeon exclusively to the Nintendo 3DS from April 7th 2015. Unfortunately, no PAL region release date has currently been locked in. But if previous games are any indication, Nippon Ichi Software America will be working on a European / Australian / New Zealand release somewhere down the track.
