Bandai Namco Games have announced that their Nintendo 3DS and New Nintendo 3DS aerial combat / flight simulation game Ace Combat Assault Horizon Legacy + is set for release on February 19th 2015. This release is just less than a week after the New Nintendo 3DS consoles land in North America and Europe, and for good reason.
They have decided to flaunt the game’s Amiibo support, which will allow gamers to use select Amiibo’s including Donkey Kong, Zelda, Captain, Samus and Pac-Man to unlock exclusive aircraft skins tied to that particular character. Each supported Amiibo comes with their own skin and distinct parameters.
Here is an example of how paramaters are being altered to support each character. Mario has long been known in games such as Mario Kart for being the mid-range character who is generally average in every stat and master at none. Therefore, Mario will be tied to the F-22 which is well balanced for both aerial and ground attacks. Bowser on the other hand is known for being a heavier bastion of defense and strength. Therefore, he will be represented by the A-10A which is the most powerful aircraft for ground attacks – with durability and offensive power shaping his craft into an aerial tank.
Bandai Namco Games have shared a handful of new screenshots for the game as well, highlighting some of these different amiibo aircraft’s.
