While there is very little better than enjoying a gaming console from the comfort of your own couch, there are times when you may want to play your console on your desktop computer or laptop for whatever reason.
To help support gamers put in this situation, Microsoft have announced that their upcoming “Windows 10” operating system will allow gamers to stream their Xbox One game/console to their supported tablet or PC within their home.
This is in addition to gaming experiences available on the PC itself, with Microsoft claiming that games developed using the new DirectX 12 application programming interface in Windows 10 will be able to take advantage of improvements in speed, efficiency and graphics capability. This will be the first major numbered instalment in the DirectX line for quite a few years.
While no release date for Windows 10 has been locked in, Microsoft have confirmed that anyone who is currently running a legitimate copy of Windows 7, Windows 8.1 or Windows Phone 8.1 will be able to update to the new operating system at no additional cost.
