While Bungie used to be possibly one of the #1 Xbox developers in the world – bringing gamers the Halo franchise, they have since teamed up with Activision to work on their multiplatform title Destiny for next and current generation gaming consoles. While one might have expected given their history that they would throw the Xbox early beta access, the studio have instead favored the Playstation 3 and Playstation 4 for early access.
Fans who pre-order Destiny at participating retailers worldwide will receive their Beta redemption code while supplies last. You can then take this code to the BETA TEST website and follow instructions to reserve your spot in the test. The required 9-digit entry code will be printed on their receipt or on a flyer distributed at time of purchase, or sent via email through their respective retail rewards program. Fans that pre-ordered before October 1, 2013 and qualify for this offer are automatically entered into the Beta and will receive their entry code from their retailer via email.
Of course, there is no word on just when the beta test will take place or how long the “early access” will be. Personally however, while I will have access to both consoles I most probably won’t be taking part in the beta test – too many experiences have been ruined for me through beta testing (Such as the many beta tests of Dragonica from IAHGames that by the time the full release came around – I didn’t feel like levelling up for the umpteenth time.).
