“Evil” Indie Game Eryi’s Action is Greenlit for Steam Service

-

“Argh”

“Fuck!”

“NOOOOO!”

Eryi Eryis Action ReviewThis may seem like a rather spontaneous beginning of a news post however those are the three words most exclaimed during my playthrough of Eryi’s Action back in September 2012 when I first reviewed the game. It is this game that has finally been successful through Steam Greenlight and is bringing frustrating gameplay to a wider audience.

This platforming game localized / published by Nyu Media and developed by Xtal Sword features a simplistic storyline, cutesy visuals and a couple of charming musical tracks… but is brutally challenging that it will leave you swearing at your computer, facedesking and closing the window. This is all out of frustration as the game actively tries to have Eryi meet her devastating and gamebreaking end as she seeks to find the one who stole her Melon.

You can read my review of the game HERE, or keep an eye out in the coming weeks for more when on when and at what price that Eryi’s Action will hit the Steam Store.

  1. Seen this on Rice Digital, and picked it up from Playism myself. Awesome game, so long as you’re prepared for cheapness, which I totally was thanks to reviews like yours. I thought it was usually pretty funny though. At least the first time you die from each trap.

I’m sure that a Steam release will mean many, many more sales for this title. Which is great, but unfortunate too in a way. Some competition for Valve’s service would be real nice, but the no.2 competitor – which I believe is Good Old Games (GOG.com) – is super, super distant to them. Let alone the other comparable online game stores out there like Gamersgate, Shiny Loot, Amazon, etc. It is REAL nice to see more Japanese support on Steam, period, though 🙂 The more Japanese devs who bring games out to PC’s, the better! They’ll reach so many more international fans this way.
