One of the most frustrating aspects of being an early console adopter in the past has been that building up your game collection in its early days is tough – with either too few titles, too many “concept” or “casual” games or without the variety there being few that catered to your preference palette.
With this generation of consoles it seems like both Microsoft and Sony are trying to avoid gamers from thinking they have brought a pricey piece of electronics to showcase on the shelf for a few years by having larger release slates than ever before. Microsoft have already announced that they have 23 titles to be available for the Xbox One at launch, and Sony Computer Entertainment are fighting back with a set of…. 15 at the launch of the Playstation 4. While this is eight titles less than the Xbox One on Day One, they are aiming at having around 33 titles available by the end of 2013 or more than double their launch slate in a month.
All but one of these games are to be available both via retail and digital outlets, with Skylanders Swap Force to obviously be retail-exclusive. The list of titles can be found below:
