With their game set to launch pretty much tomorrow in Australia/Europe and on the 8th August 2013 in North America, Image & Form have left it rather late to release their formal preview trailer for SteamWorld Dig. However with the trailer now released you can take a look at it above!
Coming in at just under two minutes in length and featuring one of the most appropriate narrators I have heard for a games specific genre in quite a while, it helps set the scene for the game while offering an ample look at the gameplay.
The remaining scraps are huddling in caves beneath the surface, and steam-powered robots have taken over the Wild West. A horror scenario? No, rather the setting for SteamWorld Dig, the new 3DS eShop game from Swedish developer Image & Form. Don’t worry: the robots are the good guys. And you’re one of them.
You play the protagonist, Rusty – a lone-wolf, steam-powered cowbot who has come to an old mining town in great need. While digging your way through the old earth for riches and helping the townfolks get back on their feet, you unwittingly wake an ancient evil that lurks below…

SteamWorld Dig is to be available exclusively via the Nintendo 3DS eShop at a reasonable price of 8.99 USD / 8.99 EUR / 11.99 AUD considering they are claiming the game has approximately 12 hours of gameplay.
