Video game publisher and developer Ubisoft have announced a new tournament series for one of their newer collectible card games, Might & Magic: Dual of Champions for the PC and iPad. This tournament series that goes by the name of “Road to Paris” takes place through online qualifiers and live tournament events, eventually culminating at the World Championship held during Paris Games Week (30th October – 3rd November).

Players can register for live tournaments on-site at the events, or participate in the online qualifiers. Ubisoft anticipates thousands of participants, but only eight competitors from the qualifying events be invited to compete for the title of Might & Magic: Duel of Champions – Grand Champion. The question is… will that Grand Champion be you? The eight tickets to the Road to Paris Final Stage can be won through 2 monthly online qualifiers, 3 European live events, 1 reward for a series of US live events, 1 live event in Australia and 1 online wildcard “swiss” tournament.

To elaborate more, the live qualifying events will take place at the following events and locations:

  • PAX Australia in Melbourne, July 19-20
  • GenCon in Indianapolis, August 15-18
  • Gamescom in Cologne, August 22-25
  • Fan Expo in Toronto, August 22-25
  • Eurogamer in London, September 26-29
  • Paris Games Week in Paris, October 30 – November 3

Ubisoft of Australia have confirmed that PAX Australia attendees are not required to pre-register for the event. Those wishing to compete can visit the Ubisoft booth (booth 1536) on the 19th July 2013 to register and participate in the pre-qualifying rounds. From these matches, the top 16 players will be invited back for the live tournament on the day after, with the eventual winner booking their spot in the World Championship at Paris Games Week. Competitors in the live playoff will also be eligible to win other prizes including bonus in-game content for Might & Magic Duel Of Champions, gaming peripherals courtesy of Roccat and Might & Magic compendiums and t-shirts.
