Given that this (now) formerly Playstation-exclusive franchise is well into its 5th major canon installment, I don’t actually see why Sega would opt for this route… however the company announced during the Japanese Nintendo Direct conference that the HD Collection for Yakuza 1 and 2 will be released on the Wii U, following the Playstation 3 launch in Japan last year. Set for release on the 8th August 2013 in Japan, this is set to bring the first two games in the series which originally launched on the Playstation 2 to the Wii U platform with a couple of new additions to suit the consoles GamePad.
Don’t get excited however, as Sega have more or less been quiet about this franchise since the international release of Yakuza: Dead Souls in early-2012. Neither Playstation 3 or Wii U edition of this HD Collection have been confirmed for international release to this date, and honestly I would be more interested in seeing Yakuza 5 finally localized…
