Personally I have never been a big fan of the number of “stuff packs” and “neighborhood packs” released by Electronic Arts for The Sims 2 and The Sims 3, which after purchasing The Sims 2: Family Fun Stuff all those years back I chose to stick straight to the main expansion packs that came with more gameplay oriented features. Rants aside, if you are after a new world for your Sims to visit then you might be interested in checking out The Sims 3: Dragon Valley which was released today.
In this brand new world, players will journey to a mythical realm of lore and fantasy. Once travellers arrive in Dragon Valley, they will discover a village full of towering Celtic-style architecture that rests along the banks of a gently flowing river and low rising hills. For the first time ever, The Sims 3 Dragon Valley introduces Baby Dragons – the exclusive and premium item for the world. These dragons not only exist amongst the residents but can also be kept as pets. Players can hatch three different types of dragons, (Red, Green and Purple) and each has its own personality, mood benefits and funny fails.
As you may already expect, this pack needs at the very least The Sims 3 base game to play, and is now available for digital download via The Sims 3 Store as either a standard or gold edition set. The Gold Edition comes with 1900 SimPoints and includes the Celtic Lands set featuring 10 ancient and mysterious virtual objects for players to bring into their Sims’ homes and backyards.
On that note, expect to see my review of the next major expansion back for The Sims 3 – Island Paradise – later this month!
