During today’s Nintendo Direct presentation, president of game developer Level-5, Akihiro Hino announced that the company will be launching a brand new Professor Layton game for the Nintendo 3DS during 2013.
There are only a handful of puzzle games which can boast the popularity of the Professor Layton franchise, boasting solid sales and strong reviews for gaming media since its original 2007 release of Professor Layton and the Curious Village (Reiton-kyōju to Fushigi na Machi | レイトン教授と不思議な町). The upcoming release in the series, Layton Kyouju to Choubunmei A no Isan (Professor Layton and the Legacy of the Super Civilization A) is set to take place a year after the events of its predecessor and serves as Layton’s final and greatest adventure.
