Ghostlight Hint at Plans to Release JRPG's on PC 1

Last week in a blog post, Ross Brierley from Ghostlight (A PAL Region publisher of video games) alluded to potential plans for the company to release some JRPG’s on the PC, something which isn’t done all that often with services such as Steam lacking in them in comparison to their video game console counterparts. In a new post released yesterday entitled “JRPGs on PC”, further information has been mentioned on this topic.

They have been in discussions with contacts within Japan and will still take a little while before anything is put into motion. There are one or two titles which they already have in mind and if these are plausible, would be looking into continuing their trend of doing physical (and potentially separate digital) Collectors Edition releases of them.

To directly quote:

While our original plan was for the PC games to be released digitally, after reading the huge amount of feedback from you all, we’re now looking into the added possibility of offering a limited number of physical collector’s editions as well.  Where possible, we may also (for gamers who prefer to get their PC games digitally) offer the collector’s edition items separately from the game.

We’re still very interested in hearing your thoughts on the games you’d like us to look in to as well as your continued thoughts on PC ports in general. We do already have one or two particular target products in mind, and if they work out then we’d definitely be interested in bringing more products to the PC platform.

Personally I have only recently gotten into PC gaming myself having preferred to play video games through home video game consoles (In no small part due to the fact that until last year the computer I was using could have been considered retro) but am interested to see what titles they do, if any release.
