Persona Update #1 – Persona 4 to be Reborn on the Playstation Vita

-

The first Persona update is something I think we all suspected, considering the recent teaser website that was unveiled. Persona 4 will be given new life in a Playstation Vita release titled Persona 4: The Golden. Currently it is uncertain if the game will be styled as the original Persona 4 was or if they will opt to use the Persona 3 System of (Cursor unless in the dungeons), however judging from the increased capacities of the Playstation Vita, I will say it will be more similar to the PS2 release, perhaps with even more improvements to the design.

For those who are interested if there will be a female protagonist – it is currently uncertain however  they have announced that there will be a new character – Mary joining the team… which should keep the game fresh but at the same time could disappoint those who wanted to see Nanako as a playable character (Even if it is for the final “secret” dungeon). ATLUS also boasts 1.5x the voice acting of the original PS2 version, much needed considering that social links were only partly voiced and that there will be a new opening animation (With a song from Shouji Meguro) and new animation movies.

The game also comes with wireless support, allowing you to, if you are in danger within a dungeon, call to others around you wirelessly for battle support. Honestly a lot of games try this, however if you are not in a major city or in Japan, good luck trying to find more then one person playing the game at any one time (I suppose if you are with friends it is a different story).

This is not it for the features however, and they have stated that other elements fans have requested will be added to the game and will no doubt be unveiled as time goes forward.
